Andrea, an immigrant from Peru, always knew she wanted to go to college despite the challenges she faced in high school due to English being her second language. She was inspired by the TV show Magic School Bus as a child and pursued chemical engineering in college. After working as an international wireline field engineer, she pursued her MBA and became a production engineer but faced rejections for being overqualified for entry-level roles.
