But first… What’s a personal brand? Your personal brand is your reputation. It’s how people describe you to others when you’re not in the room.

Personal branding is a combination of your skills & values.

It applies to your online presence and your in-person interactions and should be consistent for both.

So… How can you identify the characteristics you can use the develop your personal brand?

There are 6 crucial aspects to keep in mind!

1) Define your purpose.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I trying to achieve?
  • What skill sets are my strengths?
  • What do I actually like?

I you could impact the world in any way, what world in any way, what would you want to be?

2) Values

What’s the most important to you and the way you live & work today?

Consider your previous internships & professional experiences…What did you like & not like about those different experiences? What did you value about the people that were successful?

3) Brand Clarity

Authenticity is a priority! It’s very important to be yourself and own our self-image. When building an online presence, don’t lose who you are in the search for stardom.

4) Strengths

What are your natural abilities? If you sit around thinking about how much you wish you were like someone else, then you lose sight of who you are.

Don’t downplay the importance of who you are & the unique strengths you have! Focus on your skill set.

5) Energy

Be self-aware of your mood. Make sure whatever content you’re putting out into the world makes you happy.

Create and publish content that aligns with your energy. The more fun this process is for you, the more likely you’ll be able to keep up with it! What excites you? what brings you energy?

6) Legacy

Ask yourself…

  • What do I want to leave behind?
  • What do I want the world to know me as?
  • What is it that I want to give to the world?

The reason for life is to find your gift and then give your gift away.
